Liugong Island is located in Weihai Bay, at the east end of the Shandong Peninsula. It is very close to downtown Weihai City, only 20 minutes drive from Weihai port. Because of its natural beauty and pleasant climate, the island is known as "a fairy isle on the sea".

The island's terrain is high in the north and low in the south. Large waves crash against the smooth cliffs in the north, while a vast beach of fine sand extends for miles along the coast in the south. There are many scenic spots to check out, such as Liugong Island Expo Park, Liugong Island National Forest Park, and the Sino-Japanese War Museum.
