On the next day we visited Taipei Palace Museum. The museum was built from 1962 to 1965, and gives off dominant colors of green and orange, which are totally different from that of the Beijing Palace Museum. The museum contained a huge number of cultural relics, which were brought by Chiang Kai-shek when he retreated to Taiwan.

In one particular exhibition hall on the second floor, there displays a great copy of "Riverside Scene at the Pure Moon Festival", a famous painting by China's Song Dynasty painter, Zhang Zeduan (1085—1145), whose original work is now kept at the Beijing Palace Museum. The Taipei museum did many Cartoons based on the content of the painting. When we pointed at the painting, the screen on the wall would show us the part scene of the picture in cartoons. As the cartoon is moving, we felt we were walking along inside the painting. There are also great works of calligraphy sculptures on display and they seemed like to be made by gods. There were many foreign visitors, mostly from Japan and Korea.
