4. Song Qingling's Former Residence
Built during the Kang Xi period (1654-1722) of the Qing Dynasty, the dwelling is now a hot tourist destination that displays fine ancient construction arts and history. Song Qingling, also known as Madame Sun Yat-sen, was Vice Chairwoman of the People's Republic of China. From 1963 to 1981, she lived and worked here for 18 years until her death.
Her residence features a garden with both Chinese characteristics and a western villa. Trees and plants dating back hundreds of years together with traditional courtyards and pavilions create an ideal destination for browsing Song's manuscripts, photos and personal collections.
