The Tibetan Tourism Administration has disclosed that delegations from Tibet and Nepal have signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral tourism cooperation to build a trans-Himalayas tour destination.

There are unique differences in scenery between the southern and northern foothills of the Himalayas. Each year from April to November, many tourists visit Tibet by way of Nepal, making Nepal the gathering place for inbound tourists to Tibet. However, fewer tourists visit Nepal via Tibet.

Now the two countries and regions are discussing launching a Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Nepal-Lhasa tourist route. The Tibetan Tourism Administration and some agencies already begin to plan tourist routes in both destinations.
