Located Northwest of Xiaotun Village in Anyang City, the Anyang Yin Ruins are the first recorded relics as the capital city in Shang Dynasty (16th -11th century BC). Since 1928, Chinese archaeologists have discovered many historic sites of palaces, mausoleums, ash pits and others of late Shang Dynasty, and have unearthed large quantities of oracle bones, ceramics, jade wares and bronze wares. In particular, the first discovery of the Shang Dynasty oracle bone inscription reveals the truth about historic capital sites in the Shang Dynasty, and has created a booming interest in oracle bone inscription studies. Anyang Yin Ruins topped the 100 Greatest Archeological Discoveries of China in the last century and was listed in UNESCO’s World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. [Globaltimes.cn] |
