The Shanghai World Expo Park is expected to receive a daily maximum of 600,000 tourists in June, according to a report by Labor Daily.
The transportation and security departments of the Shanghai World Expo held a meeting to promote the periodic review of Expo transportation coordination and security on June 9.
They summed up the 40 days of transportation and security work since the Expo opened, and analyzed and evaluated Expo tourist trends in June thus far.
According to the meeting, a large surge of tourists is expected to visit the Expo in late June, influenced by factors such as large promotional packages, the high school and college entrance exams and the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
Since the World Expo opened on May 1, the number of tourists has continued to rise steadily. Expo transportation and security faced a series of challenges coordinating the opening day, special days, weekdays and weekends.

Meanwhile, the ground transportation system carried about 2.9 million tourists, accounting for 13 percent. In addition, special taxis for the Expo also carried about 2.5 million tourists, accounting for 11 percent, waterbuses transported about 299,000 tourists, accounting for 1 percent and tourist buses transported about 10.2 million tourists, accounting for 45 percent of total transportation.
