At 120 yuan (60 yuan on weekdays), entry into the park isn't cheap. However, the grounds are immaculate, and the price of admission includes a free drink at one of the park's numerous coffee shops, as well as a free ride on one of the shuttles around the lake. Visitors also have the benefit of enjoying some of the wacky amusements in the park's entertainment area. Highly recommended is a hop around the Fuma Dome, a rolling series of hills made out of a massive, inflated rubber tube. Before you leave, be sure to check out the cave-themed bathrooms near the entrance to the park, complete with faucets made out of stalactites.
There's more to explore
The number of other attractions in Sheshan makes it impossible to do it justice in just one day. Thrill-seekers will be interested in going to the Happy Valley Theme Park, whose roller coasters are visible on the horizon from both the Shanghai Sculpture Park and the peaks of Sheshan. Golf fanatics can enjoy a day on the links at the Sheshan International Golf Club, ranked as one of the top golf courses in East Asia. Lovers of nature can spend time at the Chenshan Botanical Gardens, with over 9,000 types of plants. And if there aren't any films in production, movie buffs can take a tour of the nearby Shanghai Film Studio where films such as Wong Karwai's 2046 were made.
