The Spain Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai said Wednesday that it will stop its "green channel" policy tomorrow, which previously allowed visitors who collected three Expo stamps at its city pavilions express entry into their wicker-basket structure.

According to the pavilion, the three stamps, which are given out at Spain's Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao city pavilions in the Urban Best Practices Area of the Expo Park, were being sold to visitors by scalpers for up to 300 yuan ($44), giving some visitors unfair advantages over others.

"We initiated this policy to give visitors, who take the time to tour our three city pavilions to learn more about our country, the award of not having to wait in line when coming to our Spain Pavilion," a press officer told local media Wednesday. "This was never meant to help people get in through dishonest ways."

The pavilion said that it is considering alternate plans, which will be announced over the next couple of days.
