Located in China's northern Chengde city in Hebei Province, Mulan Paddock is regarded as Beijing's backyard garden. The tranquil surroundings and charming scenery, as well as strolling flocks of birds, endow it as a famous hunting locale for imperial families, and also a paradise for shutterbugs.

450 kilometers away from Beijing, Mulan Paddock belongs to Weichang Manchu Autonomous County, and it covers an area of 2,300 square kilometers, with an altitude between 1,400 meters and 2,000 meters.

As one of the most famous tourist attractions at Bashang, Mulan Paddock is an ideal summer retreat with beautiful scenery and refreshing air.

Bashang generally refers to the vast plain area stretching from north Zhangjiakou to north Chengde, where the grassland ascends and then forms an enormous meadow.

The travel industry is the backbone of Weichang County, featuring ecotourism combined with imperial and folk culture. Nowadays, it has formed a basic pattern of three core attractions supplemented with folk themed tours.

The three core attractions at Mulan Paddock are Saihanba National Forest Park, Yudaokou grassland, and Hongsongwa natural conservation zone.

In recent years, folk themed tours are more and more popular for city dwellers. Visitors are able to admire the scenery with an entirely different rural take. Besides, you can also rent a car, play on the meadows, ride a horse, and float on the river at this scenic, out of the way spot.
