Jing'an Temple

Located at West Nanjing Road, Jing'an district, Jing'an Temple is one of the famous temples in the city. The history can be traced back to the Wu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms Period. It was called Hudu Chongyuan Temple in that period. In the Southern Song Dynasty (1127–1279), it moved from the bank of the Wusong River to its present location. After surviving from several times' of destruction and renovation, it was rebuilt after 1984 and opened to the public in 1990.

Jing'an Temple is mainly composed of the Hall of Mahavira, the Hall of the Heavenly King and the Hall of the Three Saints. Due to its quiet and peaceful environment, it is praised as the Holy Land in the busy shopping center in Shanghai.

Chinese name: Jing An Si (静安寺)

Admission fee: 30 yuan

Opening hours: 07:30 -17:00

Transportation: take bus No. 15, 20, 40, 45, 57, 71, 76, 93, 94, 113, 138, 506, 824, 825, 830, 831, 921, 927, 925 or 939 and get off at Jing'ansi (Jing'an Temple); or take the subway line 2 or 7 and get off at Jing'ansi (Jingan Temple).
