2010's ten favorite scenic areas

Ten tourists' favorite scenic areas of 2010 were announced by magazine China's Scenic Areas and domestic tour operator 51766.com, with Shanghai Expo Site topping the list.

The areas are: Shanghai Expo Site, Hangzhou West Lake scenic area, Putuo Mountain in Hangzhou Bay, China Dinosaur Park in Changzhou, Beijing Fragrant Hill Park, Shenzhen Window of the World, Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, Wudang Mountain in Hubei Province, Pingyao Ancient City in Shanxi Province and Gulangyu Island in Xiamen.

The assessment for the ranking of the areas is based on online reservations and tourists' feedbacks, among others.

1. The Shanghai Expo Site covers a total area of 5.28 square kilometers and spans both sides of the Huangpu River. There are 12 pavilion groups, eight in the Pudong area and four in Puxi area, each with an average area of 10–15 hectares.
