Special shopping for Spring Festival booms in different cities of China

With just ten days to go until the Spring Festival, shoppers around the country are flooding stores getting their holiday shopping done.

This is "Taiwan Image." a shopping section on Qianmen Avenue gives Beijing residents the chance to enjoy traditional Spring Festival celebrations in Taiwan without ever leaving the city.

People in charge of the activity say the celebrations will last till February 2nd.

Apart from enjoying performances you can also buy tasty snacks and exquisite handicrafts, such as the Chinese knot or rabbit lantern, specially from the southern island.

Beijing Resident, said, “We like to carry a mascot with us when we go out, it not only brings safety and happiness to us, but it is also a blessing to the families we visit. "

In Shanghai, an agriculture products fair provides a rich variety of food and festive supplies. Locals are busy purchasing for the celebration. Some even come with suitcases.

Shanghai Resident, said,"I come here every year. They have products from every corner of the country. And the prices are very reasonable."

As the festival draws near, Guangdong's flower market becomes more crowded.The moth orchids and miniature trees are among the most popular.

In Heilongjiang Province, people pour into stores to buy jewelry shaped like rabbits to celebrate the coming Year of Rabbit.

Heilongjiang Resident, said, "I was born in the year of Rabbit, so I decided to buy myself a rabbit necklace, wishing myself a happy and smooth year ahead."

Stuffed rabbit toys are also listed on the shopping lists of many. Shop owners say the toys are selling very fast and they have to replenish supplies every second day.
