Shennongjia Ski Resort

Located in the 2,000-meters high Jiuhuping in Shennongjia Mountain, Hubei Province, Shennongjia Ski Resort is the largest winter sports venue in South China. Covering an area of 10,000 square meters, it boasts of high-quality and abundance of snow and agreeable climate. The average winter temperature in the ski resort keeps at four degrees below zero. The snow packs for about 150 days in a year.

Shennongjia Ski Resort is outfitted with intermediate and middle skiing slopes whose degrees are 5 to 15. Also it is equipped with tow cable way which assumes the shape of "S". When dashing down the mountainside, visitors enjoy a great deal of fun and amusement.

The famous Shennongding Scenic Area is located merely 0.5 km from the ski resort. Visitors are well advised to see the snowy forest and soft rime. Ten kilometers further, it is the provincial vocational resort – Muyu town, where visitors can tour the Xiangxiyuan River and the Altar of Shen Nong.

Spring Festival activities: shooting off fireworks, sitting on the heated brick bed, eating preserved ham, drinking corn wine, talking about the savage's story (as it is said that a savage haunts in Shennongjia) and holding the bonfire party.

Snow period: December to the next March

Transportation: take the regular bus at Fujiapo Bus Station in Wuhan to Shennongjia.
