This year is the Year of the Rabbit according to the Chinese lunar calendar. There are also some "rabbit" spots hiding in famous mountains and rivers of China. Although they are rare, they can be found all around the country.

1. Rabbit Ear (Tu'er) Mountain, Fuzhou

Rabbit Ear Mountain has its name because it looks like a pair of vivid rabbit ears springing up from Dazhang River.

Located along the border of Minhou and Yongtai counties and Fuqing City, Rabbit Ear Mountain has its name because it looks like a pair of vivid rabbit ears springing up from Dazhang River. It is famous for its overlapping steep peaks, dense woods, countless streams and pools, as well as dangerous caves. The main peak is 1,000 meters above sea level.

Along the river are many waterfalls. The highest waterfall is Feilong (Flying Dragon) Waterfall, which has a drop of more than 10 meters. The river also features the country's smallest reservoir, Yongtongbei, the smallest reservoir site in the country, built 700 years ago.

Rabbit Ear Mountain features a range of activities and facilities, including campfires, paddle-boating, barbecue grills and mountain climbing.

Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. year-round.

Admission: 20 yuan.

Take bus 5 from Fuzhou to Hongshanqiao West Passenger Station, then take the bus to Yongtai and get off at Nanyu, where another bus will take you to Rabbit Ear Mountain.
