The annual International Peach Blossom Festival which is currently underway in Beijing's Pinggu district has become a magnet for tourists from nearby cities, according to the metro newspaper Beijing Youth Daily.

About 14667 hectares of peach trees are in bloom across Pinggu district; representing the biggest peach plantation in northern China.

Entering its 14th year, the festival includes sideline events such as a music festival and a Taoist celebration held in a historical temple.

Buses bound for Pinggu are available at Beijing's Dongzhimen Bus Station. The district is about 70 kilometers from the downtown area of Beijing.
