Through her grace and unwavering spirit, she fought back against the misfortunes of life and fulfilled her ballet dream.

For Li Yue, Saturday night was like a dream come true as she danced before 90-thousand spectators. But in her dream she had never done it this way.

Li was the only one in her school class to survive the earthquake which left 80 thousand dead or missing. The school building collapsed. Rescuers had all but given up hope of finding more survivors in the rubble 40 hours after the quake. Li was inspired to use her electronic watch to send light signals up through the huge pile of collapsed concrete. That's what saved her life.

Li was overjoyed when she heard she would be part of the opening. She started rehearing every day, from early morning until midnight.

The young lady's performance became an inspiration to the world. Through her grace and unwavering spirit, she fought back against the misfortunes of life and fulfilled her ballet dream.
