The post cards are part of a giant art sale, assembled by students at the Royal College of Art. Proceeds from the sale will help to support talented fledgling artists in the U.K.

All major disciplines from within the RCA are represented in the cards, bringing to the sale all the diversity and individualism that one sees in the broader art market of today.
The exhibition is the major fundraising event for the College. The money raised helps to fund new students and to sponsor graduate shows. First year Print making student James Winter is one who has contributed to the sale. He was a beneficiary of an earlier show. Winter says he would not have been able to attend RCA, without the bursary he was awarded.
James Winter, first year print making student, said, "This is a potentially life changing opportunity, well for me, and I'm sure for many others, but I can speak for myself, this is a life changing opportunity so I'm thankful for that, thankful for the fact of exhibitions like this to give you that sort of opportunity, and obviously the other artists and designers who put into it, put their time into it, and I'd happily do it one day when I make my name, you know."
The RCA Secret Postcard Exhibition and sale is an opportunity to buy art "blind." Some artists whose work is on sale are very well known. Some are virtually unknown.
