DreamWorks has stated that all its animation pictures will be produced in 3D from 2009, including "Shrek 4". More 3D movies in the pipeline include "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" from 20th Century Fox and Pixar's "UP". At least twenty 3D films are scheduled for release in 2008 and 2009.

But despite the benefits, certain issues still need to be dealt with before 3D films can reach a wider audience. Apart from the staggering costs involved, studios have to cooperate with cinemas to ensure they have all the latest digital movie equipment.
