The Peruvian film "The Milk of Sorrow" has won the coveted Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival. The winners were chosen from a field of 19 movies by an international jury.
The awards ceremony brought the 59th Berlin Film Festival to a close on Saturday evening.

The Peruvian film "The Milk of Sorrow" won the Award for best picture at the Film Festival on Saturday. Festival organizers says it is the first Peruvian film to feature in the main competition lineup in Berlin.
"The Milk of Sorrow" is Peruvian-born director Claudia Llosa's second feature film.
The mournful Spanish-Peruvian production revolves around Fausta, played by Magaly Solier.
She is determined to give her dead mother a decent burial in her native village, but she must confront the fears that have crushed her throughout her life.
