Dadong roast duck
Dadong roast duck restaurant is named after its head chef and owner, Dong Zhengxiang. It built its reputation at its original Tuanjiehu branch, but the newer Nanxincang restaurant adds classy decor to complement the classic Dadong ducks.
Dadong won fame with its unique "super lean" roast duck and healthy recipes. On top of the usual sweet sauce with sliced leek, cucumber and radish rolled into the small thin pancakes, Dadong also created its unique garlic paste to add more flavor.
There is a pamphlet that explains the correct method of eating roast duck on each table. The menu of Dadong is helpfully printed in Chinese, English and Japanese and contains a picture of each dish.
