Three more A/H1N1 flu cases were confirmed on Thursday on the Chinese mainland. This has brought the mainland's total to 61.
Of the three new cases on the mainland, there was one each in Beijing, Hubei and Shanxi. The new Hubei case involves a 35-year-old woman, who tested A/H1N1 positive on Thursday. This is the second case in the province.
The new Beijing case was a 24-year-old Chinese national who arrived in Beijing from New York by air. The case in Shanxi is the province's first. The patient is a 20-year-old man who returned from study in Canada.
Also on Thursday, Taiwan health authorities reported two new cases, bringing the island's total number of infections to 16. Meanwhile, Hong Kong has confirmed another three cases. This takes the total number of confirmed cases in the SAR to 30.
