In all, 14 ships from China's Fisheries Administration and the border marine police participated. And for the first time ever, a helicopter was used as part of a fishery patrol.
A spokesman for the Agriculture Ministry said China and Vietnam have made great strides over the past five years jointly supervising the maritime resources of the bay. He added that China will continue to develop its legislation and enhance its patrol capabilities in order to protect its territorial waters, natural resources and fishing fleet.
