Macao Pavilion inspired by jade rabbit

At the World Expo, Macao Week was launched on Wednesday. The celebration puts Macao Pavilion in the spotlight as one of hottest sites to see.
The outer shape of the building is based on the "jade rabbit", an auspicious sign for locals, while on the inside, visitors are taken on a journey to Macao's past and present.
Macao pavilion takes on the shape of "A Lantern of a Jade Rabbit," which indicates Macao returning to China in the year of Rabbit, while the terrain of the region in ancient times also resembled the adorable animal.
The structure's height is exactly 19.99 meters, symbolizing the year of 1999 and the year of return.
Walking into the pavilion visitors take a tour of Macao's 400-year history as a city, through a 30-minute film, starring three Macao locals.
The threesome are on their way to search for the lantern of the jade rabbit. During the journey they come across Zheng Guanying, the first Chinese person to nominate Shanghai to host the world expo 100 years ago. Then they lead visitors through the lanes and streets of Macao, introducing its historical sites, as well as its ups and downs over the years.
The three leads of the film also inform viewers about the festive activities held in Macao throughout the year, from the pageant in honor of the goddess of Mazu, to the dance parade called "Drunk Dragon."
