Four houses in the city of Lanzhou in north-western Gansu province are under threat after a landslide struck the suburban area.

Four people have been rescued from the debris, one is missing while the search continues. Affected residents have been moved to safety. On the lower reaches of the mountain, a residential building has also been affected by the landslide.

The land resource department has dispatched personnel to monitor the situation in case of emergency. Since last year, the area has experienced several landslides and related departments have urged residents to evacuate.
