Four households were forced to evacuate as landslide occurred in downtown Lanzhou, capital of Gansu Province, on Saturday evening, authorities said.

No causalities were reported so far in the landslide at the neighborhood of Fulongping, Chengguan District at 7:40 p.m., said an officer with the fire fighting department of the city.

About 100 to 200 cubic meters of earth was displaced, and shattered stones and bricks blocked the passway to the hill.

More than 30 fire fighters were mobilized to the scene to search for casualties, said the officer.

Geological perils happened frequently in the region from last year, and local authorities had issued a notice, requiring residents nearby to relocate, he said.
