Over the weekend, Chinese pop star Li Yuchun strutted the red carpet on the French Riviera. |
Li has done some acting and in 2009 she was even nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in "Bodyguards and Assassins". Li's last film acting gig was two years ago and she's still looking for the the right role.
"I wanted to try something completely different. I remember talking to director Tsui Hark. He said 'I think you can do comedy.' I thought 'really?' That's challenging. If there's something good, I'll give it a try," she said.
Unlike most other stars, Li rarely updates her Weibo micro-blog but admires other stars who use the twitter-like social media platform to communicate with their fans.
"Right now social media is so popular, that's why a lot of people are using it. I think the way Zhou Xun using weibo to announce her relationship, is especially cool," she said.
Li says she's not the type to share her life with others on social media, she says she'd rather do her chatting face-to-face.
