The Second Friendship Forum between Latin American and Caribbean peoples with China was held in Havana on Thursday, with a view to strengthen bilateral ties.
During the inauguration, Cheng Siwei, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress and current president of the China-Latin American Friendship Association, said both sides should elevate cooperation to a higher level for mutual benefits with a spirit of practice and innovation.
Some topics, including "Analysis of the experiences in the promotion of the youth, cultural, tourist, educational and trade interchanges" and "Promotion of the popular interchanges among China and the countries which do not have diplomatic relations with China yet," would be discussed at the three-day forum.
Besides, an exhibition, "Marvel from China", is expected to be shown on Friday.
