Austrian President Heinz Fischer stated on Wednesday his satisfaction with the development in Austria-China relations and optimism about the bilateral relations in future.

Meeting with representatives of overseas Chinese in his office, he told Xinhua that he had visited China many times and saw the changes in China. At present, the whole world was affected by the economic crisis in various degrees, but "China still has dynamic development."

Fischer also pointed out, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and China, the bilateral relations in such areas as politics, diplomacy, economy and culture have been developing well.

He also believed that "in next decade, the cooperation between our two countries will continue to be vibrant, well-developed and to represent the interests of both sides."

He said he was looking forward to his visit to China early next year and making preparations for that.

The Austrian president said this year marks the 60th anniversary of founding of the People's Republic of China, and he took the opportunity to express festival greetings to all Chinese in Austria.

He also praised the overseas Chinese for promoting Austrian economic and social development, as well as mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

Chinese Ambassador to Austria Wu Ken, Executive Vice President of Austrian Association for Promotion of Friendship and Cultural Relations with China (AAPFCRC) Gerd Karminski also attended the meeting.
