A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official said in Beijing Friday the CPC is ready to carry out inter-party exchange and cooperation with all Nepalese political parties.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with Narayan Kaji Shrestha, vice chairman of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (UCPN-M).

"China hopes the constitution-drafting and peace process in Nepal will advance smoothly and that Nepalese society can enjoy continuous development," Wang said.

A friendly bilateral relationship conforms with the fundamental interests and common aspirations of the two nations' peoples and is also conducive to regional peace, stability and development, he said.

He also said the CPC and the Chinese government have and always will view and handle Sino-Nepal relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.

The CPC hopes to conduct inter-party exchanges and cooperation with all Nepalese political parties, including the UCPN-M, to promote bilateral relations, Wang said.

Narayan Kaji Shrestha said he hopes to advance the inter-party exchanges and cooperation with the CPC to develop state-to-state relations.
