Russia wants to further develop cooperation with China in oil, gas, nuclear power and coal sectors, said Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko on Wednesday.
The minister told Chinese ambassador to Russia Li Hui that China and Russia have seen fast progress in energy cooperation during recent years, notably the joint efforts in oil pipeline construction and Tianwan nuclear power plant project.
Shmatko hoped that the two countries would complement each other in energy sectors, especially in oil, natural gas, nuclear power, electricity and coal, to achieve win-win situation.
Li said that the fruitful energy cooperation between China and Russia has enriched the content of Sino-Russian strategic partnership of cooperation, and has enhanced the pragmatic collaboration between the two countries.
China is willing to work together with Russia in more energy projects, to push forward the two countries' economy and thus bring more benefit to their peoples, Li said.
During the meeting, Li presented Shmatko the "Outstanding Contribution Prize" awarded by Chinese President Hu Jintao, to commend the Russian minister's dedication to the Sino-Russian relationship.
