At least 43 children were injured in a road mishap in India-controlled Kashmir early Saturday morning, a senior police official said.
"The children sustained injuries when the speeding school bus in which they were travelling skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in the northern state's Rajouri district. The mishap happened when the driver was negotiating a curve," the official said.
"All the injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of three are said to be serious," he said.
The bus driver is absconding.
