Flash floods in West Papua in the easternmost of Indonesia has killed at least 13 people and left dozens others missing, spokesman of National Disaster Management Agency Priyadi Kardono said in Jakarta Monday.
The floods at Teluk Wondama district of West Papua on Sunday destroyed dozens houses, the spokesman said.
"The rescue for the missing person is hampered, as the rescuers are blocked by many of fallen trees in the roads," he told Xinhua over phone.
Floods and landslides frequently happen in Indonesia particularly during the wet season, which annually and regularly takes places from December to April, but for this year it occurs longer.
