Artists of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) performed in Pyongyang Sunday an adapted Chinese opera masterpiece to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) into the Korean front.
The opera was dedicated to mark the 60th anniversary of the entry of the CPV into the Korean front, said an organizer of the show. It is an indication that the traditional friendship between the two countries has been growing stronger and passed on from generation to generation.
DPRK top leader Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the ruling Worker's Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission, instructed the troupe to complete the adaption before the anniversary, the organizer said.
Among the audience were Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, and Liu Hongcai, Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK.
