China will donate one million U.S. dollars and supplies worth of 10 million yuan (1.57 million U.S. dollars) to help with flood relief in Thailand, according to a statement from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand on Saturday.
Guan Mu, Chinese ambassador to Thailand, told Thai Premier Yingluck Shinawatra about the donation during a meeting on Friday, according to the statement.
Yingluck said the donation was an evidence of the deep friendship between the Chinese and Thai people, it added.
The flood ravaging in central and north Thailand has killed at least 253 people. More than 2.7 million people were affected.
