China hopes talks between the U.S. and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Beijing will achieve positive results and promote the restart of the six-party talks, Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin said Tuesday at a press briefing.
Liu said China supports all parties involved to maintain contacts and talks.
The U.S. State Department on Monday said special representative for DPRK policy Glyn Davies, as the senior envoy, will meet with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan in Beijing on Feb. 23.
It will be the two countries' first such contact following the death of former DPRK leader Kim Jong Il.
