"At present, the situation on the Korean Peninsula is very complicated and sensitive. We do not hope to see a reversal of the hard-won momentum of relaxation of tension on the Peninsula," Hu said.

He called on all parties to remain calm and exercise restraint to avoid exacerbating tension and seek an appropriate solution on that basis.

China is ready to work with other parties and continue to make active efforts to maintain peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, the president said.
