The Lebanese-Chinese Business Council, the first of its kind in Lebanon, was launched Thursday in a ceremony attended by Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wu Zexian and a mass gathering of Lebanese businessmen in the Lebanese capital.
Wu conveyed his congratulations to the council members and said the Chinese embassy in Lebanon has always supported the work of Lebanese businessmen to enhance trade cooperation between China and Lebanon.
He also expressed his hope that more Lebanese businessmen will participate in enhancing trade cooperation with China in order to raise the economic and trade cooperation between China and Lebanon to the highest level.
For his part, President of the Lebanese-Chinese Council Ali el Masri said that "the idea of founding the council came from the keenness to develop relations between China and Lebanon and the increase of trade exchange between the two countries as the Council aims to help the Lebanese and Chinese businessmen to communicate to create new business channels between Lebanon and China."
He added that the council will be the link between all Lebanese and Chinese businessmen and all those who have the desire to open new trade horizons between China and Lebanon.
