Myanmar president proposes administrative reform

Myanmar President U Thein Sein Wednesday proposed the third step of a series of reforms which deals with administration in a bid to promote national development, according to Thein Sein's address to government department officials broadcast alive by the state TV.

Speaking to the officials, Thein Sein recalled that over the past one year and nine months, the government carried out a political reform and worked for national reconciliation as the first step of the reforms, making achievements to some extent.

As the second step of the reforms, he said, the government launched an economic reform. It promulgated a new Foreign Investment Law and endeavored for the building of special economic zones and industrial zones.

As the third step of the reforms, there is important need for an administrative reform, he emphasized.
