At the meeting, the two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the further deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

They also reached consensus on safeguarding peace and stability in the border areas of the two countries.

China's Foreign Ministry on Thursday confirmed a bomb from Myanmar was dropped inside China on Tuesday afternoon, as fighting continues between Myanmar military and the Kachin Independence Army. The bomb fortunately caused no casualties.

This was the fourth bomb dropped inside China, following three others on the evening of Dec. 30.

China demands Myanmar thoroughly investigate and take every necessary step to prevent similar incidents from happening again. It also urged the opposing sides to solve conflicts through talks, and effectively maintain stability around the China-Myanmar border.

Fu Ying, who is also Chinese vice foreign minister, arrived Yangon on Saturday.
