Russia and China are the main guarantors of international laws and norms, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.
"We act from principal positions in all affairs, including Syria, Iranian nuclear program, and Korean Peninsula's nuclear problem," Lavrov said at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
"We stand for solutions exclusively through negotiations, we confront the attempts to get back to the language of ultimatums, sanctions and refusal of negotiations," he said.
The diplomat noted that neither Russia nor China encourages or engages in risky games on the world arena as both countries need peaceful environment for their economic goals.
"This is why Russia and China act in favor of creating security systems which would guarantee everyone's interests," Lavrov said, referring to the efforts to create such a system in the Asia- Pacific region (APR).
"It is important that no security threat appears in the APR which remains a world economy's engine," the diplomat said.
According to him, the comprehensive strategic relations of coordination between Russia and China were in the best period in history with no problems in bilateral ties.
"We and China are united in our leaders' and states' desire to guarantee good neighborly relations. This is why huge attention has been paid not only to economy and investment, but also to cultural, humanitarian cooperation," said Lavrov, citing Russia- China language and tourism cross years.
