The Japanese government on Monday deplored a deadly terrorist attack in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province on Saturday, sending condolences to the victims and their families.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told reporters at a news conference on the day that Japan "deplores the indiscriminate mass killing," offering condolences to the survivors and bereaved families.
The mass attack by more than 10 knife-wielding assailants in the Kunming train station on Saturday night has left at least 29 innocent civilians dead and 130 others injured.
The Chinese authorities said the brutal attack was an organized, premeditated violent terrorist attack, and was orchestrated by Xinjiang separatist forces.
