China to continue political efforts in solving Syrian issue

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday that China will continue to help promote a political solution to the Syrian issue.

China has been actively promoting a political solution to the Syrian issue, and will continue to work in this direction, Wang said when answering a question at a joint press conference with his Bulgarian counterpart Daniel Mitov.
Force can not solve the crisis, but political measures can, Wang said, adding that all anti-terrorist actions should be consistent with international law.
He said that with the help of the United Nations, the Syrian parties will be able to sit down together at the negotiating table and find a solution in line with the country's fundamental interests.
