The 5th Conference on Investing in Western China cum. Ceremony for Signing Economic Cooperation Contracts (hereinafter referred to as the Conference) will be held during the 12th WCIF. The theme of the Conference is "Collaboration and Cooperation for Mutual Development and A New Page of Western China".
Official from the National Development and Reform Commission will attend the Conference and deliver speeches. Officials from the twelve provinces, autonomous regions and municipality in the western region as well as Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps will give their speeches on the major industries to be developed during the 12th Five-Year Plan period and the policies for investment. The ceremony for signing economic cooperation contracts will be held.
To make preparations for the Conference, the twelve provinces, autonomous regions and municipality in the western region as well as Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have released the information about 3,362 projects for business promoting and investment attracting at the beginning of this year, covering the high-tech, competitive resources, equipment manufacturing, agricultural industrialization, infrastructure and service trading industries. It's predicted that the total investment contracted during the 12th WCIF will reach 800 billion yuan.
It is learnt that, the officials from the National Bureau of Statistics will release the List of the Top 100 Western Counties (county-level cities and districts) for Investment in 2011 at the Conference. The evaluation and release of the List are undertaken by China Information and China National Conditions and Strength under the National Bureau of Statistics as well as the Secretariat of the WCIF. The first list of such kind was released during the last WCIF. It attracted great attention of the foreign and domestic media and provided important information for the foreign and domestic investors to make investment in the western China. Therefore, the release of the List at this Conference will be highly concerned by the overseas and domestic entrepreneurs.
