The 15th WCIF will consist of two sessions: the first will run from Oct. 23 to 26, and the second will run from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3. The main venue has a total exhibition area of 120,000 square meters, including the Western Cooperation Hall, the International Cooperation Hall and the High-End Equipment Manufacturing Hall -- open during the 1st session -- as well as the Agricultural Industry Hall and Jewelry Hall, which will be open during the 2nd session.
Key events: The opening ceremony of the 15th WCIF and the 7th Western China International Cooperation Forum, and the 8th Western China Investment Briefing and Economic Cooperation Project Signing Ceremony. Special events: The Sichuan Provincial Major Project Briefing and Talks, and the Sub-forum of the Western China International Cooperation Forum.
The 15th WCIF intends to invite more than 60,000 guests, exhibitors, and buyers. The number and level of the guests, exhibitors and buyers at the Fair will decide the scale of the event, and the number of overseas guests, exhibitors, and buyers will determine how internationalized the Fair has become.

The year of 2011 is the first year for the implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan of China and the first year for a new-round Western Development. The 12th WCIF will be of specific significance in promoting the opening-up and development of the western region and in fostering a fast and good economic development of this region.
The year of 2010 is the first year for implementation of the second-decade western China development strategy. The Western China International Fair (WCIF) shoulders the new mission of "improve the development and opening-up level of western China in an all-round way".
The 10th WCIF, boasting of high level, large scale, many highlights and great effects, had an extensive influence. This WCIF served as a general exhibition booth showing the achievements of the ten years' Western Development and also a new start for the Western Development to go into a deeper stage.
By October 30, the 9th WCIF has signed 795 investment projects with an amount of 300.452billion yuan, including 750 domestic-funded projects valued 269 billion yuan and 45 foreign-funded projects valued 4.605 billion yuan.
