The biggest international expo center in central-western China will be completed in 2016 and will serve as the permanent location for the Western China International Fair.
As the first major public infrastructure project in Tianfu New Area in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, the center boasts investment of about 10 billion yuan, covering an area of 840,000 square meters. Two subway stations will also be built around the center.
The southern section of the project contains an international expo center of about 570,000 square meters. The northern section, which covers about 270,000 square meters, includes an international meeting center, an expo business center, the Sichuan Provincial Planning Museum, exhibition halls and hotels. The southern section will be completed in September 2016 and will begin hosting the Western China International Fair the same year.
