With the publication of a tourism guidebook on tourist spots and popular restaurants, foreign tourists will find it easier to visit Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, local media reported on Monday.
"Insight City Guide: Kuala Lumpur", the English-language book will help tourists know places of interest and how to get there, the national news agency Bernama reported.
The book, initially printed 15,000 copies, details descriptions of the attractions and sketch maps to guide tourists to reach there, as well as features the people's diverse cultures and restaurants offering a variety of Malaysian dishes.
It also provides tips for tourists to taste a variety of food served at 60 popular eateries in and around Kuala Lumpur, Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Donald Lim said.
The publisher plans to translate the book into Spanish, German and French, he said.
"We hope tourists reading it will be convinced as it is written by writers familiar with Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding areas," Shahon Shah, one of the six authors said.
The book, jointly published by APA Publications GmbH and VerlogKG (Singapore Branch) in collaboration with the Discovery Channel, is available at all major bookstores for 49.90 ringgit (US$14.68).
