Aside from Uniqlo, Meters/bonwe's T-shirt brand, MTEE has launched the Pegasus Saint Seiya series this summer for men's tees. Pegasus Saint Seiya was also created in Japan, although somewhat earlier in the 1980s. The character was introduced to China in the 1990s, with his TV show becoming one of the first Japanese animations to be screened here. The cartoon series became wildly popular, and Pegasus Saint Seiya is revered as an iconic cultural symbol for children born in the 1980s and 1990s.

Retro figures

MTEE, Meters/bonwe's in-house T-shirt brand, first launched its retro, cartoon figure T-shirts back in 2010. And for this year, it's not only cartoon figures, but also other retro 1980s elements that are being featured, such as children's games, toys, paper helicopters, ice cream dolls, shuttle cocks and iron toys.

Based on these retro elements, eight young, crossover, designers (some are professional photographers or illustrators) including Mr. Box and A. Wing, have used artistic techniques such as transparencies, contrasting colors, gold stamping and mosaic details to reinterpret these retro figures in innovative ways.
