Li Yuchun tops 'richest young entertainers' list

Former Super Girl winner Li Yuchun has been named as 2011's top-earning young Chinese entertainer with an income of 51.1 million yuan (US$8.1 million). She is followed by another mainland singer Zhang Liangying with 46.67 million yuan and Taiwanese singer Hebe with 42.5 million yuan, according to Southern Metropolis Entertainment Weekly.

The 27 year-old has appeared in around 60 commercial shows this year, commanding an average fee of 800,000 yuan per show. A further 600,000 million yuan came from her starring role in the 2011 movie "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate" directed by Hong Kong new wave director Tsui Hark. She has also picked up several lucrative advertising contracts and is the face of Chinese online apparel brand VANCL.

Mainland stars occupy five places in the 2011 list of top 10 richest young Chinese entertainers, compared with three in 2010. The three new entries on this year's list are actress Yang Mi at number 4, singer Han Geng at number 7 and actress Wang Luodan at number 9.

The average age of mainland stars on the list is 25.9, slightly younger than Hong Kong's stars' average age of 26.1.

Famous mainland actress Fan Bingbing, who topped last year's list with a salary of 62.5 million yuan, was ineligible this year as she is now over the list's age limit of 30.
