Hoffman was a celebrated and respected actor known for his Oscar performance in "Capote" as well as the cerebral "Synecdoche New York" and darkly humorous "Boogie Nights".

The Hunger Games Mockingjay part 1 is scheduled for a November 2014 release with part 2 coming out in November 2015.
