Kiel, who stood at over 2 meters tall, portrayed the steel-toothed villain Jaws in the late 1970s. Jaws made his debut in the 1977 Bond title, "The Spy Who Loved Me."

Kiel reprised the role once more in 1979 with "Moonraker."

Jaws never spoke a word in either Bond film. In Moonraker, Bond introduced the mute antagonist with this now famous line:

Woman: "Do you know him?"

Bond: "Not socially...his name is Jaws. He kills people."

Kiel's other appearances on the big screen included "The Longest Yard" in 1974 and "Happy Gilmore," in 1996.

Born in Detroit, Kiel began appearing in TV shows and films in the 1960s.

Despite lifelong health complications due to a rare hormonal disorder, Kiel's television and film career spanned 4 decades.
